Equipment Requirements

Backplate and WIngs DIR BC System
- Stainless Steel or Aluminum Backplate with web harness and hardware.
- Shoulder straps and waist strap should be of a single piece of webing
- 3 D-Rings, one on each shoulder and one on the left hip.
- Single buckle attached to the left waist strap
- Single tank backmounted wing with rear dump valve with 30 to 40 lbs of lift
Regulators and DIR Hose Configuration
- 5 ft or 7 ft Primary Regulator Hose (7ft recommended)  
- 22" to 24" Necklace Regulator Hose  
- 24" to 26" SPG Hose
- Bolt Snap attached to Primary Regulator Hose
- SPG with attached bolt snap - no other gauges.
Fins: non-split variety (ie Scubapro Jet Fins)
One spool with 100 feet of line
Surface Marker Bouy or Lift Bag
Exposure Suit appropriate for the Environment Wetsuit or Drysuit
Knife or alternative cutting knife mounted on left waist strap
Wrist mounted depth gauge/timing device/dive computer
Wrist mounted compass
WetNotes or X-notes.
Cylinders
- Aluminum or Steel Cylinder of least 80cft in size
- 2 cylinders required per day of diving instruction.
- Tank configured with K, H or Y valve (K valve preferred)
Optional recommended gear
- Canister dive light mounted on right waist with Goodman handle
- Backup lights mounted on each harness shoulder D-Ring
- Pockets mounted on thigh of exposure suit.
